Surgical treatment
Used most often as a form of invasive treatment, surgical treatment is a physical intervention with the aim in removing the pathology within the operation field. Modern surgery is very much different from techniques used in the past, not only due to equipement but also due to aseptic procedural regime. It allows to offer ophthalmological services in an out-patient form without the increased risk of inflammation or infection.
Laser treatment
Laser treatment is used for about 15 years now, since the introduction of equipment able to deliver relativelly large amount of energy precisly into the location by light beam. Very often this type of treatment allows for deep tissue intervention without breaking the barrier of the eye surface. It minimizes the possibilites for tissue infection.
