Cataract is the most frequent eye condition correlated with age. The natural lens of the eye becomes less and less transparent, due to change in the lens itself. Worsened vision is the result, however it comes slowly over many years. Cataract can be caused by genetic factors, prescribed medications or trauma, but most often it is due to degenerative processes present with aging.
Symptoms of cataract
Even though cataract comes slowly, there is several symptoms you should notice:
- clouded vision
- difficulties in small text reading
- constant dots, flies in the vision field
- diplopia - double vision
- halo effect around light source at night
- worse green and blue color perception
